The assistance of CAP personnel is requested for this airshow. We will be assisting the Security Forces, working the flight line, etc.
PO is working on billeting for the nights of 1-2 July so that we may help with setup before the show and teardown after.
The Thunderbirds will be performing on 2 July. A full practice is planned for 1 July, which we will be able to watch. Possible opportunity for meet and greet with the pilots and getting up close and personal with the F-16s following the practice.

Cpt. Cavett, I have a double-header in glenpool this tuesday night. Is there any chance that I could test next week and still make airman in order to go the Tinker?

I will have to check with the testing officer on that one. We will also have testing on the 4th Tuesday. If you have already fulfilled your PT requirements you could test that night. Once you have passed the test we can promote you at will. I'll talk with Maj. Wyatt and see what we can come up with.

We currently have 5 people signed up to go to this, 3 of which are "maybes". We need at least 4 definites to justify funding for the trip. We have to pay for this out of squadron funds.

Definitely add me to the list I can go as a second SM If any CDT's are going Iwould just need a driver because I dont have a CAPDL If not enough people are going let me know I would still like to go I would like to be on the particapation letter and the quatering location would be great. Last time I checked the regs I wasnt allowed to transport CDT's via POV is that still the standing policy? just for my own records

It looks like we will have enough to go. AFAIK, I will be driving the van. It will be a one day trip; billeting was not acquired and we have a color guard performance on Sunday morning.
I don't remember what the regs say, but I believe our squadron policy is that you have to have a CAPDL to transport cadets in any vehicle.
Departure times will be posted tonight. I hope.

We will be leaving from the police station at 0545 Satruday morning. Those of you on the west side can choose an alternate west side meeting location and we will swing by and pick you up on the way. They were able to arrange for billeting on base Sat. night, but I need to come home that evening. We will head back at or about 1900, hopefully arrive back here by 2130.
You need to bring money for food, sunscreen/chap stick, etc. , and water. I'm sure water will be available there, but probably at $3-4 per bottle.

BTW, I mean 0545. If you arrive at 0546 you will be very alone.
