What types of activities do we need to be scheduling? Cadet input is needed to ensure that the activities we do are fun and interesting. This is YOUR opportunity to express your opinion in writing for all the world to see.

Now that summer is here and school is out, what do you think about touring some of the aerospace related industries in town? It has to be on a weekday for most, but some might be available on weekends or in the evening. Some possible candidates are:
The NORDAM Group. They have several divisions that do everything from repair jet engines to making airliner windows.
Flight Safety. Flight simulators.
Boeing
American Airlines
In OKC they make the Edge 540. Commander Aircraft is in Bethany. Tinker has a pretty neat facility where they repair jet engines. I visited there once in college and got to stand about 10 ft. from a low bypass turbo fan in full burner on a test stand.
What about touring college campuses? I know OSU has a very impressive fluid mechanics lab and one of the largest wind tunnels around here.

I think that the new air and space museum is opening up pretty soon maybe we can go down there on a tuesday. I saw a billboard this past week that said the Air and Space Museum was now open. Sounds like a great time to me! Is this ( www.tulsaairandspacemuseum.com) the place you were thinking about?

I have a friend that has been he said it was rockin. He says their is an F-16 cocpit and in front of that a windtunnel with a minature F-16 and you can maneuver it inside the cocpit. he said they kept the F-14 in there so thats cool. So yeah i think it would be fun, Kinda crazy with that many people but fun none the less.

We went to the member's preview a week or so ago and it is very nice. They have done a good job with it and have added several new exibits. The two Spartan planes (the C-2 and C-3) are now hanging from the ceiling. It would make a good tour for the squadron though I don't know that they can do Tuesday evening. I guess we could ask.
