I know of lots of good books. One that is great for WWII history buffs is called Flyboys. It documents the attack on Chichi Jima and the months preceding and after the attack. This is the attack in which former President Bush was shot down and rescued by a US u-boat. Other books I have really enjoyed are the submarine warfare books by Joe Buff, Michael DiMercurio, and Patrick Robinson.

One of my favorites is "Fate is the Hunter", an autobiography by Ernest Gann. This is a great look into the life of an aviator who flew during WWII and later flew for several airlines and cargo outfits. The book is more like a log of some of his more memorable flights and some of the the problems he encountered. "Fate" in this story is "death" and the book tells how he tried to avoid it while flying. This is a must read book for anyone interested in aviation history.

A good book for Leaders is a book called "An Enemy Called Average" it has lots of good advice for the new leaders. It talks a lot about avoiding a life lived in the defensive and taking the offensive. One of my favorite quotes from the book is "We should learn as if we shall live forever and live as if we are going to die tommorow."

Vince Flynn writes a lot of good books, the first series I ever really got into. It is all about this top secret CIA operative who hunts terrorists.

Clive Cussler writes a lot of good books even though he is a secular writer. He writes some amazing books.

The Traveler's Gift is an excellent book which includes 7 leadership traits as the story goes along John Maxwell is one of my favorite leadership writers 21 Law of leadership alot of good lessons The Bourne Legacy was a good book it picks up 20 years later from the original trilogy (quite different from the movies) when jason bourne is retired from the CIA and is a college professor. Another is The Kitchen Boy it's about a servant in the Romanov household who remained with them when they were exiled and later executed. it's pretty cool because it's a theory behind why they couldnt find one of the two missing bodies when the Romanovs were executed and it is a well written historical fiction. I'm currently trying to read three other books but I dont have time while I'm in school

I would like to borrow that when you are done. I have the other book that the author (Bradley?) wrote called "Flyboys" that is a similar story of the attack on the island of Chichi Jima. This was the attack in which former president Bush was shot down and rescued by a US sub minutes before being captured by the Japanese.

Walmart has it in paper back for $5 I would suggest it to all honor guard members and future candidates considering how much we do with the flags on memorial day weekend

OK, I'll just pick up a copy. I didn't realize they were available in paper back. Mine is hardback and it was $20 I think.
