Hello All, There have been several requests to start a Yahoo Group for our squadron. Well, it's here. the URL is: groups.yahoo.com/group/Starbase_Squadron_OK-151/This is a private group, for members of our squadron. All requests to join with have to be approved. This should prevent "spam" from outside sources. To join, go to the link and click the "join this group" icon. You will need a Yahoo username and password. If you don't have one, on the login page just select the "sign-up" link and create one. They are free and don't require any real personal information. The group has a calendar , message board, files area, photo area, and a place for databases (i.e. rosters, cal lists, etc.) It also has the ability to send notices to all members (such as reminders of upcoming events). Pleas let me know what you thinks about this.

I think the Yahoo site will work better for getting out important information. Any message posted on the Yahoo site will be e-mailed to the list members. That way the members have a hard copy of all the messages in their mail box and are not just relying on a phone call. The calendar on Yahoo is up to date with our squadron stuff and the wing stuff too. I'm trying to keep it current. By the way, any member of the Yahoo group can update any section of the site including the calendar. So if you know of an item that is not listed, just add it.
To post a message, just click the post message link on the message page. I think SarTalk will still be a better place to post general comments and chit-chat. But due to the email notification capability of the Yahoo site, I think it will be a great way to pass needed information right to peoples mailboxes and be a source of up to date scheduling information.
