No i was referring to me training the guard this year. Theres only 3 of us who know the new ceremony and thats myself, Lipats, and Craig. So unless you wish for someone who dosent know the ceremony teach it you have from us three to pick for trainers I was just offering my services. So I was wondering your thoughts on that

That is fine with me. We are running out of time to get started, so I probably won't get to have hell weekend this year. But we will still have some serious hardcore weekend training done. I also have had a few thoughts about who can participate. The cadets who serve as Tomb Guards need to be the absolute best and most dedicated we have. They also need to have significant experience in the cadet program. I am thinking that we should limit participation to cadets who have completed Phase 1 of the cadet program (i.e. are cadet NCOs) and have completed at least two achievements since last Memorial Day.

Sounds like an excellent idea anyone in here now should be able to promote by the time of memorial day.

That's what I was planning on.
I noticed in another thread that we might have a bugler available this year.

Matthew plays the trumpet, you should read "Get to know your squadron." I think he put it in there.

I am more than willing to help in any way possible. I don't know the ceremony. (never was any good with rifle drill) I usually show up at the performances on that weekend, but last year was the first year i missed since becoming a senior member. this year i want to help a lot more because if i get deployed again I would at least like the satisfaction that i was able to help while i was here. I got a lot of respect for you guys that do this every year. I'm not out to steal your thunder but senior support is always needed and i am offering that to you guys now because we almost always get short handed with seniors every year.

Yeah, Im trying to see if I could get my fencing coach to let us use building during cold weather when we need to practice. Its centraly located its right off of 244 and sheridan behind that QT. But hes not very supportive of the CAP due to the fact that he lost his prime student to it but I might be able to convince him.

Well a few of us made the rifle stocks yesterday over a Cavett's house. I think there is still some work to do on them but its a good start. I am kinda disappointed that more people who are interested in honor guard didn't show up or ask about it. (if you did but got no straight answer I can understand) I will say this though we had five people three seniors, and two cadets and those people filled up the work space and got things done pretty well. For those involved I offer you a pat atta boy for your hard work. If there is to be more finishing out on these practice rifles I hope more people will be getting involved on round 2

Yeah i was thinking of what else we needed to do to them. any ideas? I think it might be wise to put some kind of something for the trigger guard. If we cant find anything else we could drill a couple holes and put a piece of a clothes hanger in there. Yo Cavett do you have any idea when we will be getting the real M-1s? When we do Id like to borrow one for a week or so to make some adjustments to the ceremony if we need to due to the different rifle.
