American Flag on Uniform

Hey my deal is just to stop fighting about it. The United States flag has always been is here still and will be here in the future. if you get rid of my flag it is like taking the saying "In God we trust" off of the dollar bill. it has been there a LONG time. I dont care what is pc or not, It is like saying Merry Christmas vs. happy holidays. I am not going to change the way i live every my life because it is not pc. That is my life, and I will stick to it. That is the end of it.

what is chanukah?

I'm glad you asked. Chanukah is an eight day Jewish holiday celebrating freedom. Sometime, back before Jesus was born, the Assyrians controlled Israel. Sometime later, an Israelite named Judah assembled a small army to take back their land. Antiochus was king of Assyria at the time and he had desecrated the temple. Judah and his army, the Maccabees (which means hammer), took back their land and rededicated the temple. The word "Chanukah" means re-dedication.
That is not all of the story however. In the temple, there was a lamp that was supposed to be lit all of the time. But the Maccabees only found enough oil to last a day. Eight days later the oil was still burning!
Some of the things we do at chanukah include, lighting a nine branched menorah, playing dreydl, and eating potato latkes. A dreydl is a four sided top and "latkes" means pancake. You can probably find a lot more information on the Internet. If you have any more questions, you can either look there or ask me.

How we go from discussing the flag on the uniform to Jewish holidays I have no Idea. (the joys of multiple minds colliding on one subject eh) anyway I want you young-ins to understand something real quick so just bear with me. First off I want you guys to realize that I am not unpatriotic and neither I believe is sammons. (thats just for records sake guys) Now what I tried to do in my post was foster a debate of mature minds and let y'all see my reasons for my reservations about this. I can respect your opinions as long as they are in an responsible form. All I ask is that you respect mine. Now I realize that in reading Steve's post he generally did not show much respect for your opinions. Nor did his post foster a mature debate. (no offense guys bot both side looked like to siblings both going he did it, he did it, he did it in the back seat of the car.) this was a topic that pushed one of his buttons and your repeated post didn't let up on that. thats fine thats why we do things. besides just to let you know some subjects are easier to push his buttons than others. (trust me I know in the five years I've know him I think I've triggered everyone of them, sometimes all at once. You should try it it's quite fun) anyway I digress. I agree that this post should be put to bed it caused a lot of dissension in the ranks (not hake's fault) but merely because everyone felt something about this and it was important enough for them to post up on it and thats good ( I mean come on at least we care enough about the flag to get into a yelling match about it right) So to everyone for the record I agree to disagree and wish everyone a merry Christmas and happy whatever Jewish Holiday. (don't ask me to pronounce it or spell it, I don't want to butcher it)
